COMMANDER?S MESSAGE
Comrades and Sisters, Well the first month is gone and we really
haven?t had any activities at the Post.
We are still in dire need of Program Chairmen. If you are
interested, please contact myself. The list of Post Chairmen and
vacancies is on the Bulletin Board.
I stated last month that we need to look for ways to entice our
members to come out to the Post. Here?s a thought for the 20th of
August. Since there will be music and karaoke that night, Lee Ann
and I thought it would be fun to have a ?Bring Your Own Steak Night.?
You provide the steak, chicken, ribs, etc. you want barbequed and
either cook it how you want or have one of our experts grill it on
our new grill. We can have baked potatoes, toppings, corn on the
cob, salad, dessert, etc. There will be a sign up sheet on the
Bulletin board if you want to bring any of the needed condiments.
As most of you that have been out to the Post, you will notice that
we now have ZiegenBock on draft. It has gone over so good that it
will probably remain. We will be getting with the distributors to
see what else we can get.
We have a new bartender, Kimberly. Please stop in and introduce
yourself. We have also signed up several more members last month and
this. Please welcome them.
If there are items of interest you would like to see in the
newsletters, please let me know. I value your suggestions.

I am sure that most of you are aware that one of our own was
seriously wounded in Afghanistan when his unit came under attack.
Army Sgt. 1st class Dale Smith Jr. of Clovis. He was critically
wounded and is listed in critical condition at Walter Reed Hospital
in Maryland, his parents are with him.
Dale is a 1999 Clovis High School graduate. I spoke with Cassie
Smith this morning, Dale's sister-in-law to let her know that the
Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce, staff, board members and the
entire membership of our organization will pray for them. I am
asking all of you to pray for the Smith family and pray especially
hard for Dale Smith's recovery. Cassie was much appreciative of the
concern.
Let's help this family. We as Clovis citizens know how to take care
of our own, Dale is a Wildcat, he's from the "Home of Champions" and
"Champions" never give up. There has been an assistance medical
account fund established for Dale at Cannon Federal Credit Union at
4205 N. Prince St. or P.O. Box 2080 Clovis, NM 88102 you may also
call CFCU at 575 791-3353. I am also asking our Chamber membership to
please by-pass one of your needs so that we can help Dale and his
family. We know how expensive being away from home can be. May God
continue to bless all of you for helping this family and may God
Bless the Smith family.
